Atacama Experience - part 2
18.12.2013
3rd day – Geyser Tatio
Be prepared to fall from your bed in the middle of the night . The tour leaves the hotel at 4:00 am. The journey lasts 4 hours turning around the Andes mountains until the Geyser Field.
Getting there you will find the temperature probably below zero, wind, smoke water and a lot of people warming their food in the hot water on the floor.
The geysers are “alive” from 8h to 9h and the show is free! Beautiful alive show!
Some brave hearts take their clothes out and jump into the hot water. Just do not forget that outside the cold remains.
From there our next stop were some typical villas very well preserved. You almost can have a Inca flash back lifestyle. Tip – be careful taking pictures from the locals. They may start throw some rocks in you.
4th day – Lagunas Cejas, Ojos de Salar and Salar de Atacama for Sun set.
We left the hotel at lunch time and went right to the next adventure. This a triple tour visiting the aquatic area of the desert.
It is 1h driving in the middle of nowhere and suddenly you find blue water everywhere.
The depth of this lakes is unknown because it is very very salty. You can enter in these lakes but take care of your eyes.
Next we went to Ojos do salar – the opposite of the last lake…. Freshwater and cold, showing up in the middle of the desert.
Close to the Ojos de Salar is the Atacama Salar. It is a very beautiful landscape with salt until the horizon and a incredible sun set.
